### How to replace in DB?
* **Start by generating a report**: Select the **Dry Run** option located at the
bottom of the settings section.
* **Review the report**: A modal window will appear, showing the specific rows
and data that will be affected by the replacement.
* **Proceed if satisfied**: If the preview looks accurate and matches what you
intend to replace, simply close the report window, uncheck **Dry Run**, and click
the **Find & Replace** button.
* **⚠️ Attention:** Please carefully review the dry run report before making any
changes. Once replacements are applied to the database, they **cannot be undone**.
The PRO version includes an undo feature, but it must be installed before performing
the replacement.

## Installation
1. Upload the real-time-auto-find-and-replace folder to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’

This plugin is awesome for staging a site under another name then moving it to the
live domain name, or copying a site from one domain name to another. You can run
it before or after the move. If you do it after the move, you will need to manually
update the site urls in your db options table then run it to change the site url
pointers everywhere else in the db.

The plugin is straightforward. It handles serialized data perfectlywhich is crucial
for WordPress, as standard SQL search-and-replace queries can easily break serialized
arrays used by plugins and themes. The UI is clean, letting you select specific
database tables to target so you aren't blindly modifying your entire site.

It is better to stay with the free version, because my experience is that the paid
version can't install and then you can't contact the developers, I keep receiving
Mailer-Daemon undelivered messages (see example below).The only time they reply
to you is when you post a bad review and they ask you to contact them by email which
doesn't work as I mentioned and you get a Mailer-Daemon undelivered message over
and over againSee below an example of what I received after I contacted the developers:

My client moved to a different city and the former city was everywhere in the website.
I was able to easily change cities with no problems. I tried a different tool prior
and it messed everything up, thank goodness the site was backed up just prior so

* **Fix:** Managed-regex rules no longer break the front-end page when the pattern
contains `#`, is syntactically invalid, or is empty.
* **Fix:** A failing regex now preserves the original page content instead of rendering
a blank page.
* **Fix:** Save-time regex validation rejects invalid patterns with a clear error
message.
* **Update:** Modifier checkboxes (case-insensitive / whole-word / unicode) are
now persisted via a new `flags` column and hidden for rule types that don’t use
them.
* **Update:** Database migration to 1.0.4 — adds the `flags` column and repairs
legacy escape sequences in existing rules.
